Regarding Lucy’s writing workshops:

Lucy’s facilitation was exquisite: confident, knowledgable, supportive, and flexible. Her ability to attune to each person and support them in the way they needed helped make the group feel safe and alive, and the people she attracted to join the group were exceptionally deep and loving. I had an amazing time and wrote something I’m proud of that I published to an online community. – Zachary Schlosser, entrepreneur and writer

While participating in this group, my voice as a writer really started to open up. I loved how Lucy set up for us to meet with partners in between sessions. My partner and I used the format given in the group, and it proved very fruitful. The exercises we did helped me stretch in new ways as a writer, and I always found more freedom in my expression after a creative exercise. Lucy masterfully created a powerful setting between us where we could explore, celebrate each other, grow together, and have a blast! – Brita Grothe, Coach and Physical Therapist

Poet, author and teacher Matt Daly

Lucy has been a fantastic writing coach.  She has kept me motivated and excited to prepare a book-length collection.  Lucy has brought her incredible talents for descriptive language and voice to bear on my poems, improving them in often unexpected ways.  She has a real gift for seeing hidden potential in my drafts  and making clear and specific suggestions to drawn out that potential.  Her kindness and enthusiasm make the process of close revision more fun that I thought possible.  Who knew working with a writing coach could be a laugh riot? – Matt Daly (dalypoetry.com)

Cate Stillman, Founder of YogaHealer

Lucy helped me achieve my dream of writing three children’s books. I loved working with her to uncover the stories I most wanted to tell and to bring them to life in a way that was fun and creative. Seeing my daughter and other people’s children reading the printed version of Good Morning Yogis Big and Small is a real kick, and earlier this year Kids Yoga 101 gave it a fantastic review. I couldn’t be happier to have my writing out there helping families learn how to start their days on a healthy note.

You know why I like working with Lucy? Working with her is dead on perfect in terms of  her temperament, openness, intelligence and creativity. When I started working with Lucy, I was twelve years deep into writing my first novel Provenance. She infused the final stages of editing it with so much new creativity.  Working with Lucy brought the project back to life in a way I could not have imagined. In my work with Lucy,I finally fulfilled my lifelong dream of writing a book, and now that it’s completed, we’re on to my second novel

Historian and acclaimed author Charles Bracelen Flood

In the autumn of 2002, I received an excellent contract from a leading publisher for a book to be called Grant  and Sherman: The Friendship That Won the Civil War. Thus I had access to good professional editorial advice, but I was struck by some of the insights and suggestions made by Lucy. In fact, she helped me uncover the narrative arc, and chose incidents that revealed the characters of both Grant and Sherman. Lucy had an intuitive feeling for Grant’s wife Julia, and their relationship, which the Civil War historian Bruce Catton called “one of the great, beautiful American love stories.”

This  effective editorial teamwork has continued since then, with Lucy seeing both the conceptual possibilities and telling details that have marked 1864: Lincoln at the Gates of History, and Grant’s Final Victory.(www.charlesbracelenflood.com)
